Description

AddSmart 2.0 is the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) of North Denmark, dedicated to helping manufacturing SMEs and mid-caps accelerate their digital transformation and strengthen their competitiveness in an increasingly data-driven and automated economy. Acting as a one-stop-shop for innovation, the hub provides companies with access to advanced technologies, leading research environments, specialized expertise, and European innovation networks that support the successful adoption of digital solutions.

The mission of AddSmart 2.0 is to increase the digital maturity, productivity, and resilience of manufacturing companies by enabling the practical use of technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, edge computing, cybersecurity, and Industry 4.0 solutions. At the same time, the hub supports sustainable business development by helping companies optimize processes, improve resource efficiency, and prepare for future market demands.

To achieve this, AddSmart 2.0 delivers a comprehensive portfolio of services structured around the four core European Digital Innovation Hub pillars. Through Test Before Invest, companies can explore, validate, and test new technologies in industrial laboratories, research facilities, and real-world production environments before making significant investments. These activities include digital roadmaps, technology pilots, AI experimentation, robotics testing, and implementation planning tailored to individual business needs. Through Skills and Training, AddSmart 2.0 helps companies build the competencies required to adopt and benefit from advanced technologies. The hub offers workshops, competence development programmes, training courses, and knowledge-sharing activities developed in collaboration with universities, educational institutions, and industry experts. Special focus areas include AI literacy, digital resilience, smart production, and emerging digital technologies.

The Access to Finance service supports companies in identifying and securing relevant national, European, and private funding opportunities. Businesses receive guidance on investment strategies, grant programmes, innovation funding, public procurement opportunities, and investor engagement, helping transform digital ambitions into funded development projects.

Through Innovation Ecosystem and Networking, AddSmart 2.0 connects companies with technology providers, research institutions, clusters, investors, and international partners across Europe. Leveraging the EDIH network, the Enterprise Europe Network, AI Factories, HPC infrastructures, and other European digital initiatives, the hub enables companies to access new markets, collaboration opportunities, specialized expertise, and innovation ecosystems beyond regional borders.

By combining technology testing, skills development, investment support, and ecosystem collaboration, AddSmart 2.0 transforms digital opportunities into measurable business results. The hub empowers manufacturing companies to move confidently from initial ideas to implementation, scaling, and sustainable growth, strengthening both regional competitiveness and Europe's industrial future.
